• The local SpaceApps Challenge in Haïti is hosted by the Ecole Supérieure d'Infotronique d'Haïti (ESIH) in coordination with the Civil Innovation Lab with the special participation of students from Catts Pressoir college school.

    Civil Innovation Lab is proud to coordinate the local NASA International SpaceApps Challenge in Haïti, hosted by the Ecole Supérieure d'Infotronique d'Haïti (ESIH) and with the special participation of students from Catts Pressoir college school.

    Teams from CIV's Relief 2.0, Socinfo, Educar and CiudadesVirtuales initiatives will be joining the SpaceApps Challenge in Haïti, both remotely through virtual participation and at ESIH.

    We invite anyone interested to join us as we work on 11 projects throughout the weekend in English, Haitian Creole, French and Spanish.

    The Projects

    Picstoria

    An interactive visual timeline and database of current events and pictures of earth from space associated with them. Each entry includes pictures, historic and current events, geolocation and topics to facilitate searching, browsing and visualization. Its development will be coordinated by the Educar.org team at Ecole Supérieure d'Infotronique d'Haïti (ESIH) in Port-au-Prince.

    Twistoric

    A collaborative history of the Universe, the world and mankind in Twitter posts by its main characters, observers or narrators. Each tweet contains a link to a bigger post with geolocation, chronological information as well as pictures, videos and additional information. It will be coordinated by high school students of Collège Catts Pressoir at the Ecole Supérieure d'Infotronique d'Haïti (ESIH) in Port-au-Prince with the supervision of educators from the Educar.org team.
