shack offers and operates an open workshop for charitable computer culture with programming and tolerance in results in the middle of Stuttgart. Thus a Hackspace. There are hundreds of those digital maker centres worldwide, now it's Stuttgart's turn. 23 (!) people founded the club on 20. February 2010, and the chosen name is the ultimate short form for ‘Stuttgart’ and ‘Hacking’, just: shack. There is plenty of office space since shack e.V moved to Ulmer Strasse 255 in Stuttgart-Wangen in April 2011: more than 350sqm, including a kitchen, seminar rooms, media lab, lounge, electronic workshop, a garage for handcraftship and a computing & data center – simply a place to realize projects and to fearlessly live digital culture. The working wiki states the current projects and the notepad shows more then 140 members.
