This project is solving the Wish You Were Here challenge.
RedHeat aims to promote renewable energy options on Mars. It uses daily tempuratures from Mars to estimate the power output from chlorine based generators. RedHeat depicts a simplified process, providing estimation of Mega Watts / Hour and total Mega Watts produced. RedHeat is being developed as an iOS app.
Mars would be the ideal location for chlorine based power generation. A typical daily low for Mars is about -70C, with highs of about 5C. Since the boiling point of chlorine is -34 C, Chlorine will both boil and cool in the same day. Thus, power is generated consistently at low running cost.
RedHeat is using the MAAS api for its data. http://marsweather.ingenology.com/
